8-17-14 Sun Eve Highlights
We were treated again to an impromptu men’s trio. This trio was comprised of Reverends Yohn, Causey and Erickson, who sang praises to God in Swahili; a dialect of Africa.
Sis Mary was the speaker this night and she shared a bit about herself and what she does in Mexico:
I went to the mission field of Mexico 32 years ago, with six children and no support. No one would back us because they thought for sure we would not stay. By the work of our hands we labored and stayed to do what we were called to do. We slept in our pop-up trailer until we could afford to buy a mobile home. Missions is not easy work to be called into and there are dangers. When you’re out in the highway, the 91st Psalm is a good book to hold onto.
We are not seeing very many young people in church and we’re not seeing very many people called into the ministry anymore. We need to pray for new people to be sent in to the harvest field so that these ministries (the church and missions of those we support) do not die with those that began them because no one was interested.
