Church Hayride

While seasonably chilly, our annual church hayride last night (Oct 25), was much enjoyed.  Our feast was potluck style and ranged from barbequed chicken to the ever kid popular hotdog.  While the children enjoyed playing outside with the farm kittens and swing set, the adults enjoyed fellowshipping in the shed with the wood burning stove.
When the tractor was brought around everyone scrambled for hats, gloves, blankets and climbed aboard to pack the wagon. We were blessed to see many deer this year as our host, Jay Wickard, drove us across a corn field. (I will have to ask our spotters exactly how many there were). Once back on the road, we were taken up into the mountains. The whole ride took 1/2 an hour to 45 minutes and then back to the farm for hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows.
From beginning to end this annual event always makes for a well rounded, fun-filled evening. Thanks to all who made it successful, either by preparing or by attending. May God bless you!
