“She brought forth her children” preached by Rev. Yohn
When your heart throbs for a visitation from God and you travail in prayer, God will visit you. Travail prepares your heart for a visitation because it brings you to the place God has longed for you to be for a long time. It causes you to come to God with sincerity, humbleness and Godly fear. These characteristics really grab God’s attention (Isaiah 66:2).
To travail and to intercede is hard, intense work. Do it and something new is going to happen. (Isaiah 43:19) Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. That is what God is going to do. Sometimes we’re almost surprised by what God does when we cry out to Him in this fashion. God doesn’t always move and do things the way we think He would. You never know what’s going to happen, for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children. When our prayers go up, get ready because something is going to happen.
It is often said and rightly so, that people do what they want to do. You have to make the determination to serve the Lord. The world is perishing. How many people are taking the time to travail for souls? It seems like the church world has been falling asleep. We plow a little here and plow a little there, but the devil is plowing for souls all of the time. We need to be travailing before God. We have to be busy. We need to tell others about Jesus.
There are those professing to be Christians and I think mostly they are just hoping that they are. They are not seeking personal sanctification and they are living with secret sins in their hearts. What they are really doing is hindering the work of God and the real working of the church, which is to win souls. What they are doing is not good enough. They pull away the strength from the church. No, those that really have a vision will not lose it, but progress will be hindered.
We’ve got to do our work upon our knees to win souls. Travail for your loved ones, neighbors, those you’ve never met and your church family. Name their names. Intercede for someone else and God will move on your behalf. It’s a great thrill to help someone and to see the effects of your prayers.
Where there is no vision, the people perish (Proverbs 29:18). We have to have a vision for souls; here and around the World, for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.
